Welcome and Opening Remarks by Troy Schneider, President, GovExec 360

As America’s Cyber Defense agency and the lead Federal Agency responsible for protecting the United States’ critical infrastructure from physical and cyber threats, the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) stands as the center of gravity to help bring the public and private sectors together and to augment the cybersecurity community. In this session, CISA’s Assistant Director for Stakeholder Engagement, Alaina Clark will discuss how CISA is leading the nation’s collective defense efforts by collaborating with key government and industry partners to create an environment of impenetrable cyber defense, putting our entire cyber ecosystem in a position of strength. Throughout the session attendees will hear how they can best leverage CISA’s programs and resources. Ms. Clark will also discuss the agency’s strategy ahead as CISA continues to ensure that our Nation is not only prepared for the threats of today, but also the threats of tomorrow.

Ransomware is a serious and growing threat to government operations at the federal, state, and local levels. In recent years, there have been numerous reported ransomware attacks on hospitals, schools, emergency services, and other industries. This talk will explore how federal agencies assist organizations in protecting their assets against ransomware attacks and in responding to related incidents and organizations' perspectives on ransomware assistance received from federal agencies.

An overview on the FBI Cyber Division's strategy on three key interconnected initiatives for 2023 and beyond: (1) The Model Cyber Squad, (2) the Cyber Talent Initiative and the Cyber Accelerated Training Program.   To fulfill its service mission, the FBI recognizes a need to modernize its approach to recruiting, developing, and retaining its Cyber Workforce. This session will characterize the long-term vision and strategy to fully staff model cyber squads across the nation along with our strategy to recruit, develop and retain the cyber talent to fuel the Model Cyber Squad.  

An overview of signature Department of Defense (DoD) efforts to strengthen its cyber posture against current and anticipated threats. The session will address our supply chain, defense industrial base programs, and our approach to implementing Zero Trust.
