Colonel Benjamin A. Ring, Director, Joint Cyber Warfighting Architecture Capability Management Office, U.S. Cyber Command

Session Opening Remarks: Dennis Reilly, Vice President of Public Sector, Gigamon

Description

Abstract: Remaining ahead of the curve against evolving, sophisticated, and motivated adversaries requires the Department of Defense to provide the Warfighter an integrated suite of cyber capabilities to conduct the full spectrum of cyberspace operations. COL Ben Ring, Ph.D., Director of the Joint Cyber Warfighting Architecture (JCWA) Capability Management Office (JCMO) for USCYBERCOM, will discuss USCYBERCOM's doctrine for countering the threat environment and the technological efforts driving some of these cyber capabilities designed to overcome our adversaries in a rapidly shifting IT environment.

Securing the Connected Mission with APIs, Data, and Zero Trust Security

Chris Holmes, Founder and CEO, greymatter.io

Description

Today’s DoD environment requires community application marketplaces, API hubs, and data made available as APIs for critical mission enablement. Complex missions require hybrid and multi-cloud operational control supported by devsecops automation, zero-trust security, and cross-cutting  microservice architectures. Combined, these capabilities enable connected intelligence that drives mission-critical decision-making, insight and force readiness.

Moving Modernization to the Tip of the Spear

Kevin Brooks, Principal Digital Strategist (DoD/IC), ServiceNow

Description

Digital transformation is a critical focus across DoD. Simply implementing modern technology alone is not the answer to building a ready force. The force itself has to be closely considered and involved.  Attention must be paid to how end users want and need to interact with systems and the data they hold.

Driving Readiness Through Innovation

Jason Abernathy, 4th Estate User Engagement Principal, Hosting and Compute Center, Defense Information Systems Agency’s (DISA)

Description

For nearly a decade, the battlefield has consisted of five domains: land, sea, air, space, and cyber. In this modern age of war fighting, where the battlefield exists as much in the digital world as it does in the physical world, data and the ability to process data at scale are differentiators that lead to mission success. Cloud is more than a fundamental component of the global infrastructure, it is a force multiplier that empowers the warfighter with relevant data, from headquarters to the edge, ensuring our military's technological advantage.
