FCW Summit: Data & Analytics

This session will address the Department of the Air Force leveraging ethical and responsible data and artificial intelligence (AI) to ensure mission readiness and superiority. Brigadier General John M. Olson will discuss the DAF’s focus on scaling innovation, utilizing measurable indicators, and providing enterprise-wide data services and enhanced security to support real-time authoritative data and integration of AI into DoD operations for optimal decision-making and success.

Data in motion architecture has gained rapid adoption since its advent over a decade ago.  It has served as the foundation for significant business transformation in industry and is enabling a similar process across government.  This session will explain what data in motion is and the ways it is being applied within government.

The Federal Data Strategy was introduced two years ago. The Office of Management and Budget has since released several action plans to help agencies implement data governance, planning and infrastructure actions. How are those plans moving ahead and what’s coming?

Siloed data is data that can’t be used effectively. Agencies are learning to weave data into the fabric of their operations, allowing more efficient and secure access across the organization. 

Government agencies, faced with a rising tide of data and analytics capabilities, have a tough job deciding how to start and how to get optimal results. Advice and practical how-to’s to manage analysis paralysis.

For decades we have been collecting data for various purposes and reporting results from the data collected…and that data was GREAT.  Somehow, overnight, that same data just isn’t clean enough, complete enough, accessible enough…  What has changed?  Let’s look under the rock together and figure out where to go from here.
