Data has been critical to managing the pandemic—from federal, state and city health departments to hospitals and universities maintaining dashboards on case counts and agencies across the country evaluating policy decisions. But data’s vital role in government at all levels and in education extends beyond tracking infections and case counts. Data drives improved decision making for agencies  improving citizen services, managing transportation, tackling homelessness, reducing unemployment,  and extending broadband accessibility—to name only a few.

At the third annual Data-in-Action Summit, leading executives from government and industry shared their stories of how data helped address a variety of community issues. The lessons learned can offer a roadmap for others facing similar challenges by applying evidence based decision making to the tasks.

Attendees came away from this event with a better understanding of:

• How data can help improve the citizen experience and access to services
• Ways state and local governments are sharing and leveraging data
• How to modernize data management in a cloud world
• Data’s role in enabling privacy and cybersecurity
