A. The fifth annual Excellence in Enterprise Architecture Awards recognize best practices on developing and implementing a successful Enterprise Architecture. Nominations are encouraged from all levels of government, including U.S. federal, state, and local government organizations, as well as successful programs outside the United States.
Four awards will be presented. A Government Civilian Award and a Government Defense Award will be presented in each of the following categories:.
1. Leadership in Enterprise Architecture
2. Leadership in Government Transformation using EA
Q. What are the benefits of entering the Excellence in Enterprise Architecture Awards?
A. All Awardees receive:
· An Excellence in Enterprise Architecture Award presented September 6 at the Awards Ceremony held during the E-Gov Institute’s Enterprise Architecture Conference and Exhibition.
· Partial scholarships for training towards EA Certification by the Federated Enterprise Architecture Certification Institute (FEAC Institute)
· A Photograph of the Award received during the Enterprise Architecture Awards Ceremony
· Recognition on the event’s website at www.e-gov.com with link to agency or program site (if desirable)
· Recognition in an Enterprise Architecture Awards Press Release announcing the Award-winning programs
Q. What are the Selection Criteria?
A.
Each candidate program must provide a completed nomination form for
consideration by the Excellence in Enterprise Architecture Awards Selection
Committee.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
· ONLY GOVERNMENT submissions will be accepted.
· The Selection Committee will consider only those nominations providing all information requested on the nomination form.
· Submissions exceeding three (3) pages will not be accepted.
The Selection Committee will look for successful Enterprise Architecture projects that have:
· Been implemented and are actively IN USE (prototypes and pilot projects not accepted)
· Solved major business integration problems and/or streamlined processes with measurable results
· Increased productivity and/or saved resources (time, funding, staffing, etc.), coupled to Exhibit 300s
· Improved the quality, timeliness, and accuracy of services, as applied to a specific organization's business
· Realized organization-wide use and impact (beyond a limited user group), E-Government implementation or better customer service
· More enterprise-wide business and operational understanding than just IT or software architectures
Note: Pure SOA submissions will not accepted unless an EA was developed for use with the SOA program.
Q. Who is the Excellence in Enterprise Architecture Selection Committee?
A. The Awards’ Selection Committee is comprised of the Enterprise Architecture Program Advisory Board members and FEAC Institute faculty, including leaders from the public and private sectors who are actively engaged in Enterprise Architecture programs. This small, consultative body reviews nominations and selects the Awards programs to be recognized at the Enterprise Architecture Conference and Exhibition. The Excellence in Enterprise Architecture Awards are presented by the E-Gov Institute and FEAC Institute.
