The 9th Annual Knowledge Management
Conference & Exhibition

Actionable Strategies and Innovative Approaches

Conference: April 28-29, 2008
Free Exhibition (for Government): April 29, 2008
Ronald Reagan Building, Washington, DC

As the Knowledge Management discipline matures, some government organizations have taken bold steps to incorporate KM applications and processes into their daily operations. Whether the objective is streamlined information-sharing across departments, retention of essential knowledge and transfer to the next-generation workforce, or simplifying data collection and analysis within government organizations, KM has been embraced by most agencies to optimize efficiency and support more informed decision-making.

The 2008 Knowledge Management Conference program will provide government professionals with an interactive, educational experience, coupled with what one 2007 conference attendee characterized as “unrivalled networking opportunities.” Conference sessions will highlight ongoing government programs that are employing knowledge management best practices, strategies and tools.

In its 9th year, the 2008 Knowledge Management Conference program will look ahead to what government professionals are doing to improve agency operations with implementation of knowledge management and learning networks within their agencies. The program is designed for public sector professionals who are implementing KM, online learning, and related disciplines within their agencies. Expert faculty will lead discussion about current trends in the KM field, and how they align with the emerging requirements of government managers to maximize information-sharing in support of agency missions.

A conference hallmark has been the collaboration that takes place at this recognized event designed by and for public sector managers from federal civilian and military organizations, in consultation with their industry and academic counterparts. Comments from last year’s participants:

  • Outstanding!!! An excellent introduction to KM fundamentals
  • Interesting – Educational – Informative
  • Very useful, real-world examples of what government agencies are doing
  • Learned from case studies to ground concepts in actual usage
